Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- Fresh cilantro leaves, for topping
- 1 tablespoon olive oil

Season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Add a little olive oil to prevent sticking, then cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through to your desired doneness.
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cover briefly to melt the cheese.
Toast the buns if desired. Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce on each bottom bun, then add a patty, a slice of fresh tomato, and a generous sprinkle of fresh cilantro leaves. Place the top bun on and press lightly.
